Meet Defending American Liberty’s new Chairman…

Ed Brookover has been an integral part of every major Republican revolution in recent political history. Ed began his political career during the Reagan Revolution where he worked as the grassroots director for the Reagan campaign team in Ohio before being promoted to National Field Director for the Republican National Committee during the second term of the Reagan Presidency.

Brookover next served as Newt Gingrich’s Political Director at the National Republican Congressional Committee during the Republican Revolution that took control of Congress.   Finally, Brookover served in key campaign roles in the 2016 election when the populist revolt by the voters put leaders on notice that the status quo wasn’t going to be tolerated any longer.  Ed first-served Dr. Ben Carson’s presidential campaign as senior strategist and campaign manager then assisting President Trump’s campaign as a senior advisor through a potential convention floor fight. 

Ed Brookover’s political roots begin in Ohio his native state. Starting as a College Republican at Otterbein University, leading to a job with the Ohio Republican Party, followed by stints at the Republican National Committee (RNC), National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). 

Brookover also served as Chair of Political Practice for the prestigious communication and media firm Greener and Hook, where he successfully helped candidates across the country like Michele Bachmann and Allen West, as well as House Speaker John Boehner. 

He is a frequent guest national media commentator on political strategy and to reporters across the country. Additionally, Brookover has been a guest lecturer at George Washington University, American University, George Mason University, Kent State University, Ohio University, University of Toledo, Lehigh University, and for classes visiting Washington D.C. from the University of Central Arkansas, University of Nebraska, University of Maryland. Brookover has advised campaigns internationally in Portugal, Columbia, North Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Greece, Taiwan, Britain, Belgium, Mexico, and Malta.  

Ed Brookover resides in Northern Virginia with his wife and family and is a doting grandpa to two amazing granddaughters, He is also a co-host of the Facebook-based commentary Vlog Five Minutes with Barry and Ed, where they discuss the issue of the week.
